Course objectives:
- Provide a solid theoretical basis in relation to neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and cognitive functions, addressing the most important neurological, neurosurgical and psychiatric diseases, from a clinical (diagnosis, prognosis and treatment) and neuropsychological point of view, from assessment to rehabilitation.
- Prepare the professional to carry out the neuropsychological anamnesis; for the selection, application, correction and interpretation of instruments for a neuropsychological assessment appropriate to the patient's profile.
- Develop clinical reasoning, correlating the results of the neuropsychological assessment with data from the history, clinical examinations and neuroimaging.
- Prepare the student to prepare the neuropsychological assessment and patient feedback report.
- Train professionals to develop a cognitive rehabilitation program, using techniques and strategies relevant to the cognitive profile.
- Work on the importance of multidisciplinarity in Neuropsychology through discussion of cases and exchange between specialties.

2. Year – Supervised Practice
- Care for patients at the FMUSP Hospital das Clínicas, in different age groups, especially in neuropsychological assessment, but also in cognitive rehabilitation.
- Monthly supervision of neuropsychological aspects with highly qualified neuropsychology specialists.
Note: For rehabilitation practice, the student will need to provide one hour per week for assistance.
